A resounding CRACK filled the room, and immediately the atmosphere escaped through the shattered screen that looked out onto the barren lunar landscape.

Caitlin had only enough warning to grab a hold of her desk which was secured to the floor. Her entire body was lifted from the floor and stretched violently toward the rupture. Every joint in her body felt as if it was being pulled apart. The air felt like it was ripped from her lungs. The pain was unbearable.

An instant later Caitlin fell back to the floor.

“Emergency barricade engaged. Re-pressurizing office,” the unconcerned computer system said.
