The Frost Giant

The Frost GiantDeep within the bowels of the earth Aurgelmir, the last of the frost giants, was imprisoned. The god Thor had bound him in dwarven-wrought chains of steel. The caverns were sealed and forgotten.

The great Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull roared in distress, causing the smallest of fractures in the frost giant’s prison. Aurgelmir pressed against the fissure with all his might for half a year until it finally split his chains and freed him.

Aurgelmir’s chilling breath blew across the countryside. Blowing, drifting snow was left in his wake. The gods were long dead. None could stop the coming age of ice.
