The Secret

“My darling Carolyn, we’ve been together a long time now,” John said.

Carolyn smiled. He was going to pop the question. It was finally happening.

John continued, “I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Carolyn, but I have a horrible secret.”

Carolyn placed an arm on John’s shoulder. “It can’t be that bad. I’ll still love you.”

“My name is actually Grrglxx’xm. I’m from the planet Zhou.”

John removed his mask. Carolyn gaped at the horrifying mess of slime, tentacles, pincers, and other indescribable features. Carolyn promptly fainted.

“This doesn’t change things, does it?” Grrglxx’xm asked sheepishly.
