Optimism

“Put the pedal to the metal!” Adam howls as the car leaps forward crashing through the flimsy wooden barricade.

“What are you doing?” Riana screams, “I mean besides using a cliché phrase as if it’s cool. The bridge is lifting! You’re going to kill us!”

The car begins its ascent up the inclining bridge. The engine changes gears and pushes further.

Adam places a reassuring hand on Riana’s leg. “It’s cool, baby. We can jump it!”

“There is no possible way in this world!” Riana protests. “It’s impossible!”

“This is Obama’s America, baby! YES WE CAAAAAAAAN!

It was a spectacular explosion.
