The Power of Positive Thinking

Crackle! Snap-crick! Ka-crack!

Sara winced at each individual snap as she lowered her foot, imagining them to be fallen autumn leaves. She was glad that it was pitch black in the cave so that her eyes could not tell her otherwise.

“Hurry up,” Nathaniel’s voice seemed to come from three different sources around her.

Crick! Snap! POP!

Sara moaned in disgust, “I can’t!”

Nathaniel grabbed her by the arm and pulled her deeper into the cave. “Just pretend they’re crunchy leaves. We’ll soon be through.”

“How big are they, Nate?” Sara asked by did not really want to know.

“They’re leaves.”
