The Origin of the Golden Age the Founding Father

Valley Forge, 1777.

A stiff cold wind blew into General Washington’s cabin nearly depriving it of all of its heat as the renowned American statesman and scientist, Benjamin Franklin, entered. “I’ve completed it. The secret serum the Continental Congress commissioned,” he said, spry as ever.

“We’re nearly at our end. The British will kill us if this winter doesn’t do it first,” Washington said.

“This should turn the war for independence in our favor,” Franklin said, “Have you picked a candidate?”

“Roger Sherman,” Washington said.

The Founding Father (as he came to be known) attacked the Hessian encampment that Christmas Eve.
